Lagos — Senior officials of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja who were suspended three weeks ago over invasion of tarmac by some Turkish Airline passengers may soon be recalled, it was learnt yesterday. The officials including the Airport Manager, Terminal Manager and Head of Security at the airport were suspended by the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika in the aftermath of the Turkish Air incident of December 24.
It would be recalled that the affected passengers stormed the tarmac when the TK624 flight from Istanbul failed to bring back their luggages but the minister, irked by the incident considered a security breach suspended the three officials. A source close to the minister confided in our correspondent yesterday that the three suspended officials would soon be recalled. In a response to the enquiry by Daily Trust, a baggage service official of Turkish Airline, Mustafa Erdal who apologized to the affected passengers explained that the airline usually sends passengers' luggage on another flight if the aircraft could not convey them with the passengers.
