The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the November 21 governorship election inconclusive on November 22, 2015 and rescheduled a supplementary election in 18 local government areas in the state, which took place on December 5, 2015.
James Abiodun Faleke had earlier written to the leadership of the APC, declining his position as running mate to the governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, insisting that he should have been declared governor-elect since he holds a joint ticket with his late principal, Prince Abubakar Audu in the November 21st governorship election in the state.
James Abiodun Faleke also distanced self from the supplementary election, insisting again that INEC should have declared him winner, since he had met all the electoral requirements.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, though an indigene of Kogi State, has always played his politics in Lagos. He was a two term chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area and a second term member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos. During his time as a council boss in Lagos, Abiodun Faleke was the chairman of Forum 57, a forum of LGA and LCDA bosses in Lagos State.
