Nice Microfinance Bank Staff In Fraud Mess 1.2million Naira 

An employee of Nice Micro finance Bank LTD, Awka Branch, Miss Mercy Ewute has defrauded the bank to the tune of 1.2million naira. The staff, a marketer, whose part of her job is going out to the field and collecting deposits from the Bank's customers was said to have collected money from customers, without remitting same to the Bank.

Speaking with one of the staff of the Bank who pleads to remain anonymous, the staff confirmed to Micro finance Times of the fraud. According to him, Mercy has traits of fraud in her as she committed same offense two years ago, but was pardoned by the management of the Bank, when her guarantors cleared off the fraud sum. This recent fraud was discovered in November.

Ecobank Explains Sack of 50 Senior Staff

Metuh’s Trial: Bank Staff Says He Runs 5 Accounts

An official of Diamond Bank Plc, Eno-Mfon Effiong, yesterday, told the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that the National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, who is facing trial over alleged N400 million fraud, ran five separate accounts with the bank.

Effiong, who told the court that she was the account officer to Metuh’s firm, Destra Investment Limited, explained that the company already had a balance of N6,676,576 in its account, prior to the date the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, credited it with N400 million on November 24, 2014.
