Kaduna — A media development organisation called Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) is collaborating with Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) to train journalists on reporting Zoonosis. Speaking during an advocacy visit to the leadership of Kaduna State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Programme Officer of AMDF, Sekyen Dadik explained that such training has become necessary in view of the threat posed by diseases transmitted from animals to humans such as Lassa fever and Ebola among others.
She implored journalists to do more of investigative reporting and data journalism, which according to her seeks to bring to light the beauty of every story.

A Nigerian college student who allegedly cheated women on Facebook has been charged at the Magistrate Court here.
Collins Sparklys Obianke, 33 who was charged at two separate courts here pleaded not guilty and claimed trial before magistrate Salamiah Salleh and magistrate Mohd Azali Ibrahim on Wednesday.
The suspected fraudster was believed to have cheated Foo Pooi Yun, 38 and S. Vanitha, 31 into making them believe that they had received a parcel containing gifts from overseas that required them to deposit RM10,500 into a bank account between Aug 24 and Sept 14 this year.
The parcels were supposed to contain a handbag, laptop, mobile phone, watches, sunglasses and perfume.

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he will hold his first Presidential Media Chat today, Wednesday 30th December 2015.
President Buhari is expected to answer questions from a selected panel of journalists on a range of current and national issues. The programme will be broadcast live on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
The Presidential Media Chat will begin at 6pm, other television and radio stations in the country are expected to hook up to NTA and FRCN to relay the programme to their viewers and listeners.
