Olamide, Don Jazzy

Music industry heavyweights Olamide and Don Jazzy have started the New Year by turning on each other, leaving many in the music industry shocked.

Both artistes had collaborated on the song Skelemba, which is included in Olamide’s November 2014 album Street OT, giving the impression that the two were more of friends.

The relationship between both label heads turned sour following a series of events at the 2015 Headies Awards in Lagos after Marvin Record starlet, Reekado Banks, beat Olamide’s protégé, Lil Kesh, to the coveted Next Rated Artist prize.

Olamide Produces Sublime Stage Show at #OLIC2

Olamide’s stage appearance was expected to be massive. No other Nigerian artist has come close to releasing the number of hits Baddosneh has released in the past 12 months alone. The crowd at #OLIC2 could not wait for him to step out so that they could dance along to “Bobo”, “Lagos Boys” and “Melo Melo”.

When he did step out onstage at the event organised by Right Ent, Achievas Ent & YBNL, he brought with him one of the most epic stage sets ever witnessed in the history of Nigerian pop music. Even the most stratospheric expectations were exceeded as he pulled out all the stops with a live band, a marching brass band, a mini-documentary and OAP Do2dtun as his stage hype man.

He came back three more times throughout the night and got the same raucous reception from the crowd each time. Simply put, it was Nigerian music’s live performance of the year.
