My Husband Says He’s Done With Me And The Children

A 37-year-old woman, Mrs Udoka David, on Monday urged an Alimosho Customary Court, Iyana-paja, in Lagos State, to dissolve her 10-year-old marriage as her husband has abandoned the matrimonial home. The petitioner told the court on Monday that her husband, Moses David, with whom she had four children in their 10-year-old marriage, packed out of their house to an unknown destination.

“I do not know what is wrong with my husband; he rejected me and the children by packing out of the house, saying that he was done with me and the children “When our church and family members tried to settle the matter, he said it was over his dead body that he will never accept me or the children,” she said.

Cleric Seeks Divorce From 4th Wife Over Alleged Constant Beating of New Wife

A 65-year old Islamic cleric, Ibrahim Yusuf, on Thursday urged an Alimosho Customary Court in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos State, to dissolve his 27-year old marriage to his fourth wife, Bolanle, for alleged battery of his new wife.
Mr. Yusuf told the court that Bolanle, with whom he had two children, had turned his new wife into a punching bag.

“Bolanle did not allow my new wife to have peace in the house as she was always fighting and beating her at will,’’ he said.

The petitioner described Bolanle as a troublesome woman that was always fighting him and in the process would tear his clothes to pieces.

“My wife is a good fighter; she fights me regularly and always makes sure that she tears my clothes into rags before leaving me.

“She always embarrasses my new wife and I in public. Bolanle usually harasses and ridicules us.” he said.
